What changes on a Hervey Bay build

Wind Region B, but exposure varies block to block

Hervey Bay sits in Wind Region B under AS/NZS 1170.2. That does not make every block the same - beachfront Torquay and Point Vernon lots and open acreage at Craignish or Dundowran are engineered to a higher classification than a sheltered suburban block in Eli Waters. We set the classification from your lot, not the postcode.

Coastal corrosion

Salt-laden air along the Esplanade side of the bay shortens the life of underspecified fixings and flashings. Coastal builds get the appropriate COLORBOND® or ZINCALUME® specification and fastener class for the exposure, so the roof and the screws holding it last the same length of time.

Sandy soils and slab design

A lot of the bay is sand-based, which changes footing depth and slab detail. Site classification is confirmed before engineering rather than assumed, so what is quoted is what can actually be built.

Most requested in Hervey Bay

Double and triple garages

Lock-up garages sized around real vehicles - dual cab, boat or caravan - with roller door clearance checked against your wall height before anything is ordered.

Boat and caravan bays

Hervey Bay is a boating town. Extra-height bays with clearance for a boat on a trailer or a caravan with air conditioner are one of the most common builds we quote here.

Patios and awnings

Insulated and flat-roof patios attached to existing homes, engineered and approved with the fixing detail the existing structure actually needs.

Approvals in the Fraser Coast

Hervey Bay, Burrum Heads and Maryborough fall within Wind Region B under AS/NZS 1170.2. Terrain category and shielding still vary lot to lot - beachfront and open acreage blocks are engineered to a higher classification than a sheltered suburban block.
