Are your sheds engineered for our local wind ratings?

Accepted Answer

Every Spartan Shed is engineered and certified for the wind region and terrain category of your specific site. You receive engineering documentation with your build for council approval.

What steel do you use?

Accepted Answer

100% Australian BlueScope® steel with genuine COLORBOND® or ZINCALUME® finishes. No imported steel, no substitutions — that's what backs the BlueScope® warranty on your building.

Question 4

What makes a Spartan Shed different from a kit shed?

Accepted Answer

Welded plate and bolted critical connections instead of flimsy folded brackets, custom-made corner and door flashings specifically for your build, and a cast-in slab concrete vermin rebate rather than a screw on metal or plastic flashing. It's a stronger, tighter, better-finished building.

Do you use subcontractors?

No. Every Spartan build is handled in-house from quote to handover by our own highly skilled tradesmen. The same team that designs and quotes your shed also prepares the slab, fabricates the steel and completes the build on site. Although we do supply high quality kits and offer support to you, or other trade contractors that you may engage to build your shed, carport or patio.

Question 6

Do you handle council approvals and building certification?

Accepted Answer

Yes - we manage the entire approvals and certification process for you. From engineering drawings to lodging with council and the certifier, you don't need to chase paperwork. We also handle council relaxations if your design falls outside standard allowances, so nothing is left sitting in your court.

Question 7

Do you do the concrete slab as well?

Accepted Answer

Yes - we deliver a full turnkey package including site prep, slab and installation, or supply the shed kit only if you have your own trades lined up.

Question 8

How long does a shed take from order to install?

Accepted Answer

The timeframe depends on the size and complexity of the building, engineering and approvals, manufacturing lead times and our construction schedule. A typical project progresses through design, engineering and certification, manufacture and delivery, site preparation and concrete, construction, final inspection and handover. Timings vary between projects, with some stages dependent on external approvals and manufacturing lead times. We provide an anticipated project timeframe as part of the quoting and scheduling process.

How much does a shed cost?

Shed prices vary depending on size, height, wind classification, site and soil conditions, concrete requirements, doors, access, finishes and approvals. We assess the proposed building and property so your quote reflects the actual design and site requirements rather than a generic installed price. Use the 3D Shed Designer to lay out what you have in mind, or send us your details and we'll come back with a preliminary quote.

Question 10

Can I choose my own COLORBOND® colours?

Absolutely. Roofing, wall cladding, gutters, flashings and trims can each be specified in different COLORBOND® colours, giving you the flexibility to create a finish that suits your shed and property. Explore our colour chart to view the full range.

Question 11

What components and brands go into my shed?

Accepted Answer

Every Spartan Shed is built from 100% Australian BlueScope® steel, finished in genuine COLORBOND®, COLORBOND® Ultra or ZINCALUME® depending on your site. From there we supply and install a full range of components: Merlin® and Grifco® roller door motors; GI Building Sciences and Fletchers insulation; MaxBreeze® solar roof ventilators and Spinaway® wind-driven ventilators by Ampelite Australia; Taurean Door Systems roller doors; Bradnams windows and glass doors; and Larnec personal access doors. Everything is quoted and installed as part of your build, so it all works together.

Question 12

Do roller door motors come with my shed?

Roller door motors are optional. We recommend Merlin® or Grifco® automatic openers for garages and workshops where you want smooth, remote access. They can be added to any Taurean roller door we install as part of the build. We also offer power packages if needed.

Question 13

What insulation options are available?

Accepted Answer

We install reflective foil-cell insulation only: GI Building Sciences Reflecta-Shed Plus™, Reflecta-Shed Plus V2™, Reflecta-Guard Plus™ and Reflecta All-In-One™, plus Fletcher Insulation Sisalation® Bubble Cell and Foam Cell Shed Liner. We do not use fibreglass or wool products in sheds - wool blanket needs wire underneath to stop it sagging and it holds moisture. Our foil-cell products hold their own shape, reduce radiant heat, quieten rain noise and control condensation. Reflecta-Shed Plus V2™ does not contain wire. Reflecta All-In-One™ is the separate GIBS product that combines insulation with encapsulated roofing wire and fall-arrest functionality where that system is required. For insulated patios, we also use sandwich panel in different thicknesses starting at 50 mm. We do not build cold rooms.

Question 14

Do I need roof ventilators?

Roof ventilators are optional but recommended for sheds that get hot or humid. We supply MaxBreeze® solar-powered ventilators and Spinaway® wind-driven ventilators by Ampelite Australia. Both help pull hot air out of the roof space and reduce condensation without running power to the building.

Question 15

Can you supply windows and access doors?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We fit Bradnams windows and glass doors for natural light, ventilation and access, and Larnec personal access doors so you can get in and out without opening the main roller door. Both are sized and positioned to suit your shed layout and intended use.

HOW DO COMPONENT CHOICES AFFECT PRICING?

Every component is priced into your quote upfront, so there are no surprises. Steel specification, roller doors, motors, windows and access doors all affect material and install costs. We confirm exact pricing with your detailed preliminary quote.

Question 17

Is there a warranty?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Because we use 100% Australian BlueScope® steel with genuine COLORBOND® or ZINCALUME® finishes, your building is covered by BlueScope® steel warranties on the materials. We also back our work with a 12 month workmanship guarantee on the installation.

You are also covered by the QBCC Home Warranty insurance against loss from defective or incomplete residential construction work, with coverage of up to $200,000 per claim, for a period of 6 years and 6 months.
